Vanguard’s experienced, enthusiastic team works to exceed customer expectations each and every day.

With a diverse business background in a number of industries, Alma Pawlak brings a no-nonsense perspective to Vanguard. Add together her construction-savvy, people skills and Spanish fluency, and you’ve got a powerful package. Throughout her career, Alma has been known for establishing and maintaining solid customer and vendor relationships.

Before she joined the Vanguard team, Alma gained a tremendous amount of practical, hands-on experiences at an architecture firm, where she generated reports for commercial buildings prior to their sale for REIT's. She conducted site inspections of all types of high- and low-rise commercial buildings and wrote due diligence and construction management reports. Alma holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Architecture from the University of Tennessee.

William (Bill) Monie II, COO

Bill is COO of Vanguard, offering deep operational experience in several construction and claims businesses. He developed the business processes for third-party claim filing services that set the standard for this relatively new industry in his role as co-founder of our sister organization, ClaimSource One. His ability to execute and implement new processes resulted in growing the company from two employees to more than 150 in less than three years. Prior to founding ClaimSource One, Bill managed several high profile class action inspection programs for a national company.

He majored in economics and holds a Bachelors of Science degree with a focus in real estate from the University of West Georgia. He resides in Suwanee, Georgia with wife, two sons and their daughter.

Felix Mendez, Vice President and General Manager

Felix Mendez is the Vice President and General Manager of Vanguard Roofing and has over 25 years of progressive business experience. He plans and directs all aspects of Vanguard's commercial and residential operations and is responsible for the management team, companywide goals and operational improvement.

Prior to his position with Vanguard Roofing, Felix owned and operated a multi-unit franchise business and most recently managed a division of an Inc. 5000 nationwide service company, one of America's fastest-growing private companies in 2007 and 2008. An active member of the Roswell community, Felix has coached at Roswell Area parks for over 13 years and has been involved with Roswell High School's Booster Club in raising money for the athletic programs. He also headed the Roswell Jr. Hornets Baseball feeder program for the high school. Felix currently resides in Roswell, Georgia with his wife and three sons.

Harry Camp, Vice President and Chief Estimator

Harry Camp, a 45-year veteran of the commercial roofing and sheet metal industry, plays a pivotal role on the Vanguard team as chief estimator and operations manager. Harry is highly skilled in all aspects of the roofing industry and puts his expertise in estimating, installation and job supervision to use in satisfying our customers.

Harry’s successful completion of hundreds of roofing projects, both commercial and residential, throughout the Southeast, has earned him a stellar industry reputation. Customers commend his ability to consistently manage and complete complex projects in a timely manner. He acquires new knowledge on quality improvement, new roofing systems and application procedures to ensure that Vanguard remains ahead of emerging industry procedures and trends. Harry holds the title of a Master Elite Contractor through GAF ELK.

Steve Defrench, Project Manager

Over the last 15 years, Steve has worked in a variety of hands-on and supervisory roles on both commercial and residential construction sites throughout the Southeast. His background and experience help him to understand your needs and to deliver projects on time and on budget.

Jimmy Speigner, Senior Project Manager

Jimmy Speigner manages all aspects of Vanguard Roofing's commercial marketing efforts. A Montgomery, Alabama native, Speigner graduated from Auburn University in 1971 and has over 25 years commercial roofing experience, with specialized expertise in metal and standing seam roofs and commercial wall panels.

Throughout his career, Speigner has been involved with many high-profile commercial roofing projects, including Atlanta's Olympic Stadium (now Turner Field) and Titan and Redbird Stadiums in Tennessee. He was also part of the project team for Philips Arena in Atlanta where he engineered and installed all the standing seam roof, fascia panels, wall panels, and soffit panels along with all the light gauge framing. Other projects include a 600,000 sq ft roof deck project for Kohler Manufacturing, industrial work for Trammel Crow and the construction of numerous Publix and Winn Dixie shopping centers in Florida and Georgia. Over the last 15 years, he has also worked on multiple projects with the Army Corps of Engineers.

David Taylor, National Account Manager, Multifamily

David Taylor manages Vanguard's commercial roofing division, focusing primarily on the multi-family apartment industry. A graduate of Wright State University in Dayton Ohio, David began his career as a production/project manager with a corrugated container manufacturer before transitioning to the commercial roofing industry. Since then, he has successfully sold a variety of roofing systems and services throughout the U.S.
